ARES provides emergency communications but also provides communications for many community events throughout each year such as marathons, parades, bike rides, etc.  This work is fun and integral to team cohesiveness and readiness for an emergency.   Our primary mission is emergency communications but in a post 9/11 world we try to support any event that includes health, welfare, and support communications.  This increases our experience and provides training so that we are ready for an emergency when needed.
